Buxton Art Trail - Saturday 23rd July and Sunday 24th July 2022 11:00am to 5:00pm

Call for Artists information

The sixth Buxton Art Trail, BAT 22’, will be taking place this summer as part of Buxton Festival Fringe. We hope you are keen to take part!

BAT 22’ dates will be

Main Event – Saturday 23rd July, 11am- 5pm

Sunday 24th July, 11 or 12 am – 5pm*

Other events

We will promote entrants who wish to be part of the trail but need to open at other times during July, also those who wish to open at other times in addition to the main event weekend. Please try to offer the main weekend if possible in order for us to create a trail!

Entry charges

The entry fee will be £20 to cover the costs of printing the trail guide and for advertising and promotional materials.

Note: Whilst community groups do generally make one group entry, artists usually enter individually, which then gives them individual listings in the trail guide. We keep our fees are low but they are essential for BAT to take place.

Venues

In a new format we will be based around two large, central venues in town which will be our ‘Hub’ locations, Buxton Infants School and The United Reform Church hall (We will look to hire further shared spaces if needed.)

Having the school gives us a large outdoor space and railings (ideal for fans of Art on the Railings!)

Following the results of our survey we have made this hybrid format to try to accommodate everyone’s thoughts and concerns re Covid.

You can of course, provide your own venue, open your home, garden, studio, garage, or other premises, find a shop to exhibit in and all will be listed and mapped on the trail.

Venue charges

To exhibit in one of the large venues BAT hires there will be a £20 cost in addition to your £20 entry fee to cover hire charges. You may share a stand and split the BAT venue hire charge but we would still prefer you to enter the trail individually so that we can list you separately in our trail guide.

Health and Safety and Insurance

We will have a Health and Safety Policy in place to address current Covid concerns and other hazards.

We require all participating artists to have their own Public Liability insurance.

Available via  SAA (Society for all Artists) or A-N  (Artist’s Newsletter ) or insurance companies.

Your exhibition

It is the responsibility of each entrant to set up/ take down their exhibition and to man it at all times. You may arrange for someone to cover for you but meeting the artist is part of the trail experience so please try to be there in person at least some of the time.

Payment and Entry registration

All payments will be by BACs transfer please and all applications to be made online via the entry form on our website.

If you have further questions or need help do drop us a line.

Please spread the word to any potentially interested artists you know and if you have venue space to share/offer then please let us know!

Hope to see you on the trail…
